Job role notesSalary: £25,453 per annum
Hours: Full time 37 hours per week
Location: Active Luton Centres

About the role
As an Activity Leader Group Fitness, you’ll support the delivery, coordination and quality of group fitness programmes across Active Luton’s centres. Working closely with the Group Gym & Fitness Manager, you’ll help ensure the smooth running of fitness activities, support instructors, and contribute to creating a positive and engaging experience for our customers. This hands-on role involves working in a busy environment, preparing equipment, monitoring safety and delivering excellent customer service.

What you’ll be doing
• Supervising and supporting group fitness instructors to deliver high-quality and safe fitness sessions.
• Assisting in the coordination and administration of group fitness programmes, including data management and customer retention activities.
• Ensuring all operational activity meets health and safety standards, centre policies and legal requirements.
• Preparing equipment and activity areas, ensuring they are clean, safe and well maintained.
• Engaging with customers, responding to enquiries and providing feedback to management teams.
• Contributing to the promotion and visibility of all Active Luton activities and programmes.
• Supporting with the monitoring of safety and intervening when required.

What we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused, with experience working in a leisure environment and supporting group activities. You’ll be comfortable working within established procedures, engaging positively with the public and taking responsibility for safety.

Skills
• Experience working in a leisure environment and supporting group fitness or activity sessions.
• Experience in a customer-focused role.
• Ability to communicate politely and effectively with a wide range of people.
• Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Basic IT skills, including email and word processing.
• Some knowledge of Health & Safety in group fitness.
• Level 2 coaching/teaching qualification.
• Ability to safely handle and move activity equipment.
