About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed level 2 Hydra Swim Teachers to join our growing aquatics team. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality swimming lessons to children and adults of all ages and abilities, following Active Luton’s structured teaching plans.
As part of our swim school, you’ll inspire confidence, encourage development, and support the community in learning this life-saving skill. This is a hands-on and rewarding role where you’ll see your pupils grow in confidence and ability week by week.
What you’ll be doing
• Teaching swimming lessons in line with Active Luton’s Teaching Plans and ASA standards.
• Planning, adapting and delivering lessons to meet the needs of different groups and individuals.
• Supporting swimmers to achieve their awards and progress through the swim programme.
• Completing lesson registers, reports and assessments accurately.
• Preparing, setting up and packing away equipment as required.
• Promoting and encouraging participation in swimming and related aquatic activities.
• Maintaining a safe environment, following Health & Safety, NOPs and EAPs.
• Attending meetings and training to ensure high standards of delivery.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking qualified ASA/Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teachers who are passionate about helping others learn this vital life skill. You’ll be an excellent communicator who can inspire and motivate learners of all ages and abilities, while maintaining a safe, fun and inclusive environment.
You should be able to work independently as well as part of a team and be flexible to work evenings and weekends to meet customer needs. A commitment to ongoing training and professional development is essential.
Skills
Essential:
• ASA/Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher Certificate.
• Experience planning and delivering swimming lessons for a wide range of ages and abilities.
• Strong communication skills with children, parents and colleagues.
• Ability to plan, organise and deliver engaging sessions within a set framework.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, NOPs and EAPs.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Ability to prepare and set up equipment.
